Summerfest Bash Planned
By DORA FORBES
Dancing, food, drink, and entertainment will be some of the highlights of "Summerfest '85--Dancin' in the Streets." This event, to be held on Sunday, August 18 from 3 to 10 p.m. is a benefit to raise money for local people with AIDS. It is being sponsored by the Summerfest 85 Committee and the Health Issues Taskforce (HIT).
"Summerfest 85" will take place downtown on West 9th Street. The street will be that day from St.
Gay Peoples Chronicle
Clair Ave. to Johnson Court.
Many of Clevela DJ's will be spinning dance music throughout the event. Additional special entertainment events, including an all-star drag show and a men's and women's bathingsuit contest will increase the fun.
Zak Haley and Jeff Swindler, co-chairs of the event, announced that all proceeds will be donated to HIT for its AIDS-support programs. HIT provides money to help AIDS victims cover such expenses as food, rent, utili-

"Again I am impressed with the support we have received from all areas of the community," said Swindler. Almost without exception, the people we asked for help have said yes. In fact, several pe sons searched us out, volunteering time and services.
A limited number of booth spaces are available for local community service organizations. Those wanting additional information about the event may call Swindler at 281-6030, after 6 p.m.

FILMS
The biggest news in gayoriented films this month is the return of "The Times of Harvey Milk," the Academyaward winning documentary about the murdered San Francisco politician. This film sold out when it was shown in April as part of the International Film Festival at the Cedar Lee. It has consistently drawn excellent reviews. If you missed it last spring, or want to see it again, you can do so July 21 and 22, when the Health Issues Task Force presents it as a benefit at Strosacker Auditorium on the CWRU campus. It plays On Sunday, July 21, at 6:30 and 8:30; Monday, July 22, at 8:00. A $5,00 donation is the admission price, and well worth it. And the cause is a good one. For information, call
961-7374.

On July 15-16 the New Mayfield Repertory Cinema presents "Taxi Zum Klo" (1982). The program notes describe it as "rather daring in its frankness" but advise you not to "bring your Aunt Millicent." Those who saw this film when it played the Festival a few years ago describe it as a another grim portrayal of unhappy homosexuals by a gay European director. Don't they realize that being gay can be fun? Where are you, Julie Andrews? The film shows at 7:30 and 9:30 both
evenings.
July 25 and 26 the New Mayfield is showing "The Fourth Man," a 1982 Dutch film that appeared earlier this year. Showtimes are 7:00 and 9:30.
